American Gem Spotlight

There are a lot of questions that come up when shopping for jewelry. What’s the most secure style? Will this be something I love wearing every day? Will this piece fit in with what I already have? While it can be fun to imagine yourself wearing new styles and mentally planning new outfits, another question might arise. Where did these gems even come from? With the American Gem Collection, we have the answer.

It’s true, gemstones and diamonds are mined all over the world. While the jewelry industry has come a long way in creating protocols for ethically mined and traded stones, there is still a lot that is lacking. This is where our American Gem Collection comes in! We hand select each featured gemstone for beauty, and for it’s story. We’ve created relationships with American miners and gemstones cutters, giving these small-scale operations the spotlight they deserve. We’re able to tell you the mine each gem was found in, and the name of the miner who uncovered it.

Hailing from the mountain peaks of Colorado comes this aquamarine beauty. The “Spirit in the Sky” ring is set with a 1-carat pear shaped center stone, and waves of .08 carats of diamonds. Aquamarine is known to be a symbol of the sky and sea, but it has also been used to create crystal balls to see the future. It has been used for divination, as well as spiritual balance. The crisp blue tones that aquamarine is known for will have you dreaming of the beach. Create your own future and envision yourself with this enchanting ring!

This California bi-color tourmaline design is a force of nature! Mined just east of San Diego county, a distinct line separates the two colors that have formed in one stone. The 1.40 carat California “Watermelon” Tourmaline showcases this rare occurrence - a change in the environment caused the gem to transition from one color into another. It’s a way for Mother Nature to mark a change within the Earth. The “Where Waters Meet” pendant is truly the perfect blend of two hues in one.

A vibrant and unique Connecticut “Rainbow” Fluorite is the show stopping gem in this one of a kind pendant! “Mystic Coast,” named for the dreamy region in Connecticut, is a classic silhouette with a modern, updated look. A paperclip chain gives the pendant an airy-yet-substantial feel. The elongated step-cut gemstone weighs a breathtaking 11.26 carats, and is accented by .13 carats of round brilliant cut diamonds. Rainbow fluorite is said to be both grounding and enlightening, stirring up creativity and clearing away negative thoughts. It connects you to your natural intuition, all while bringing truth and mental clarity.

In these dramatic dangle earrings, we traverse the landscape of Oregon. The “Cascade Range” earrings feature 6.94 carats of natural Oregon Sunstones in different shapes, creating a gorgeous display of color. Oregon Sunstone, though most well-known for red and orange hues, can form in a variety of colors, including, green, peach, and cognac. All colors of this mesmerizing stone are featured in these earrings. Named for the Cascade Mountains that reach through the Northwest, these earrings represent the colors of the sky as the sun travels across the horizon.

Each piece in our American Gem Collection is named, numbered, and described with a story and lore. We think it’s important to know and feel the history and lore of these American Mined beauties! We imagine these items as pieces of art within a gallery - meant to be admired for generations to come. Whichever piece calls to you, you can know that you’re not only becoming a member of an exclusive group of collectors, but making an impact for small-scale miners and gemstone cutters in America!
