Ring Sizing, Simplified.
We all love rings. They’re the easiest accessory to pop on before we leave for the day. In fact, we love them so much and wear them so often, that it’s easy to wish that rings would change along with our hands! Unfortunately, this magical ring solution doesn’t exist, so our jewelers have to work their sizing magic for us. If your ring gets too tight or too loose, or if you’re buying a new ring and want to get the perfect fit, look no further! Due to natural fluctuations in size, a ring that feels okay one day might not feel comfortable to wear over the long term. Many clients think they have the correct size when actually, they may need to go up or down a notch! Of course, the best way to check your ring size is to come into a jeweler and ask to have your size checked. If this isn’t an option, don’t fret! Here’s a very simple list of ways that you can make sure your new ring fits like a glove!
How to Find your True Size
Your first option requires a sewing ruler or even a piece of string. Wrap the string around the finger you will be wearing the ring on. Make sure it isn’t too snug - you want it to be comfortable going over your knuckle. If you have a sewing ruler, check the chart below to see what size equals how many inches your ring is. If you have a piece of string or floss, mark where the loop ends and measure it on a general ruler, then follow the chart as closely as you can! An alternative is to contact us and ask for an at-home ring sizer to send to you, your postage is free with a $5 fee!
If you want to get a little more creative, print out a ring sizing chart off of google and cut out the circles to put your finger in each. When it feels comfortable enough, that is probably close to the size you should really be wearing. Interesting way to do it, right?
Now, if you feel as though you don’t trust your judgment on ring sizing, going to your local jewelry store (which is probably us!) and asking for a sizing is the easiest way to find out what size rings to wear. We’ll pull out our handy ring sizing loop and make sure your exact ring size is shown to you. The benefit of coming in to see us for that is you get to try on some rings close or exactly your size so you’ll get some ideas for your next jewelry piece!
What Do I Do if My Ring Doesn’t Fit Me?
All of our rings can be sentimental; we’ve worn them for years and do not plan on getting rid of them anytime soon. But things change, and sometimes your ring might feel a bit loose or even too tight. We recommend you come to use our expertise in jewelry, and trust us to be able to size the ring to your perfect fit. It’s an easy fix! How Do I Find Someone’s Ring Size in Secret?
Whether it be a birthday surprise, a loving gift or a gorgeous engagement ring, there will be a day when you need someone's ring size without them knowing! We recommended going to someone close to the gift-ee to find out the range of their ring sizes. If that does not work out, you can somehow get a hold of one of their rings or ask for someone who has the same ring size as them to tell or show you what their ring size is!
